Cecilia & Chris Engagement Session at Whiffin Spit in Sooke BC

Chris reached out to plan a surprise proposal during their Sooke engagement session at Whiffin Spit. They were visiting the Victoria area from Colorado, and I felt so honoured that Chris chose me as their Vancouver Island engagement photographer to capture this unforgettable moment.

We had the session planned down to every detail. The idea was simple but meaningful. I would photograph the scenery and their natural interactions while acting casual, and then capture the exact moment Chris popped the question. Whiffin Spit offered the perfect backdrop, with sparkling water, calm tides, and stunning views across the spit. On the day of the shoot, people and dogs strolled along the trail, the salty sea breeze filled the air, and the sun bathed everything in warm golden light during this Sooke engagement session.

When Chris asked Cecilia to marry him, the joy was completely contagious. Cecilia’s eyes lit up, Chris’s smile widened, and their laughter rang out across the spit. Every glance, every smile, every little gesture between them was a moment I was thrilled to capture.
