Cholena and John’s Victoria BC engagement session was such a fun afternoon to photograph. We visited two locations that are especially meaningful to them, starting at Ross Bay Pebbles Beach and then heading over to Moss Rock Park for the second half of their session.
Ross Bay Pebbles Beach gave us all the coastal vibes with pebbles, water, and sunshine everywhere. And let me tell you, the afternoon sun was blinding, bouncing off the water and stones like it was trying to take over the session. But somehow it just made everything feel bright, happy, and full of energy. There was a lot of laughing, squinting, and playful moments between Cholena and John, which makes for the best kind of photos.
Next up was Moss Rock Park, which is a super meaningful spot for them. When they first met seven years ago, John lived nearby, and the park became one of their favourite hangout spots. Even now, after moving in together elsewhere in town, they still love coming back. Photographing them there felt like a full circle moment.
Cholena and John met in Victoria through a shared passion for grappling and have built a life together that is all about community, connection, and fun. These days, they love getting outdoors, having cozy nights in, and spending time with their two cats.
From the sunny shoreline at Ross Bay Pebbles Beach to the leafy paths of Moss Rock Park, their engagement session was playful, relaxed, and totally them. I loved capturing the joy, connection, and energy that makes this couple so special. Sessions like Cholena and John’s are one of the reasons I love being a wedding and couples photographer in Victoria BC. There are so many incredible coastal locations to explore with couples.
If you love the vibe of Cholena and John’s session, let’s create something just as fun and meaningful for you. Reach out today to book your engagement or couples session and capture the moments that matter most.
