Elaine & Sam Garden Engagement at Hatley Castle

A morning at Hatley Castle in Victoria set the scene for Elaine and Sam’s engagement, even though only one of them knew what was about to happen. They were visiting Victoria from Seattle for the weekend, doing some sightseeing and exploring the city. That's when Sam pulled off the perfect surprise proposal in the gardens on the Royal Roads grounds.

I arrived a little later to give them time to soak it all in privately, and then we spent the rest of the morning walking through the gardens and capturing their engagement photos around Hatley Castle. These two were full of laughs and so easy going throughout the session, which always makes for the best kind of photos.

The combination of historic architecture, lush gardens, and soft coastal air made Hatley Castle in Victoria such a perfect backdrop for their engagement session. Congratulations Elaine and Sam. It was an honour to be there for such a special moment!
