Elaine and Sam’s Hatley Castle engagement session in Victoria captured a magical morning, even though only one of them knew what was about to happen. They were visiting from Seattle for the weekend, exploring the city, when Sam pulled off the perfect surprise proposal in the gardens on the Royal Roads grounds.

I arrived a little later to give them time to soak it all in privately, and then we spent the rest of the morning walking through the gardens and capturing their engagement photos around Hatley Castle. These two were full of laughs and so easy going throughout the session, which always makes for the best kind of photos.
