Eugenie and Wendell celebrated their wedding at the Inn at Laurel Point in Victoria BC, and the entire day felt relaxed, emotional, and full of intentional moments. The morning began with the bride and her friends hanging out together while getting their hair and makeup done. It set the tone for a day that was calm, joyful, and filled with connection.
Before the ceremony, the couple chose to do something a little different. Instead of a traditional first look, they decided on a private first touch. They stood on opposite sides of each other, holding hands and talking softly, without sneaking a single peek. It was a sweet way for them to settle their nerves and feel close without giving away the big moment.
The ceremony itself was beautiful. There were tears everywhere, from family to friends, and even a few from the wedding party. Eugenie looked stunning in her dress and Wendell looked incredibly sharp in his tux. The room felt full of love and support as they said their vows.
Once the ceremony wrapped up and everyone wiped away the last of their happy tears, we headed to Beacon Hill Park for portraits. It was the perfect spot for the couple to take a breath away from the busy day. We captured quiet and tender moments, as well as soft giggles and playful glances. It was one of the sweetest parts of the entire day.
Back at the Inn at Laurel Point, guests gathered for cocktail houur. Drinks were poured, appetizers were passed around, and everyone settled in for an evening of celebration. The speeches were heartfelt and full of emotion, with the bride tearing up more than once and the groom getting misty eyed too.
Then came the cake. Let me tell you, this cake was a showstopper. Simple, clean, and absolutely gorgeous. I joked that it might have outshined the bride, but only for a second.
While guests enjoyed their meals and some coffee and tea, Eugenie and Wendell slipped outside to the waterfront platform where they had been officially married earlier in the day. The sun was setting perfectly across the water as they exchanged private vows. It was a quiet and intimate moment that felt like such a meaningful way to end the day. We captured some of my favourite photos of the entire wedding here.
And then it was time to party. The music kicked in, everyone hit the dance floor, and the night wrapped up with laughter, dancing, and the best kind of wedding chaos.
