Michayla and Max’s engagement session was worth the wait. After having to reschedule twice (once because Max got the plague LOL and another due to a torrential downpour) we finally met up for their shoot, and third time was definitely the charm.
We started at Durrance Lake in the Saanich Core, surrounded by calm water and towering evergreens, which made for the perfect serene backdrop. From there, we headed to Island View Beach in Saanichton to catch the soft evening light over the water. Both locations highlighted their connection beautifully, and it was so clear how much they love each other.
Michayla and Max have been together since high school and navigated a long-distance relationship for seven years before finally being in the same city. Earlier this year, they got engaged, and now they’re enjoying making a home together, spending time painting Warhammer miniatures, going on walks, and listening to music. For this session, they were up for anything, laughing, spinning, and hugging through every shot, which made the entire experience effortless and full of love.
It was such a joy to capture their playful, genuine connection and see their excitement about this next chapter. From the quiet forest at Durrance Lake to the golden light at Island View Beach, every moment felt perfectly them.
