There’s something truly special about capturing moments that celebrate love in its most genuine, effortless form. Ryleigh and Gabe’s queer couples picnic session at Saanich Gorge Park in Victoria BC was exactly that. It was a warm, tender, and joyful celebration of their connection.

The day unfolded with soft summer light filtering through the tall trees, setting a peaceful and intimate atmosphere. They brought a cozy picnic filled with fresh fruit, yummy bread, and the most beautiful birthday cake to celebrate Gabe’s special day. The simplicity of sharing food and laughter in nature created the perfect backdrop for their story.

What made this session even more personal and charming was their shared love for Frog and Toad. Ryleigh and Gabe read the stories aloud during their picnic, a tradition that means so much to them. To honor those beloved characters, they dressed in a Frog and Toad-inspired way, bringing a whimsical and nostalgic feel that was as playful as it was sweet.

Watching them interact, whether sharing a quiet moment reading together, stealing laughs, or enjoying the cake, was a reminder of the beauty found in everyday love rituals. This session was not just about stunning photos. It was about honoring their unique bond and celebrating queer love authentically and joyfully. Saanich Gorge Park, with its lush greenery and tranquil vibe, was the perfect setting to capture these heartfelt moments. Sessions like this, full of meaning, personality, and genuine connection, inspire me most as a photographer.

If you want to celebrate your love story in a way that feels personal and true to you, whether it’s a picnic, a shared favorite book, or simply being together surrounded by nature, I would love to help you capture those moments.
