It was hot, like unbelievably hot, but this Hatley Castle wedding was unforgettable. Fiona and Kevin’s love story began at a music festival in Europe, and the couple chose to celebrate their love at Hatley Castle in Victoria BC.

I first photographed Fiona and Kevin during their summer engagement session, and their connection was just as effortless on their wedding day. Their ceremony beautifully blended modern touches with Kevin’s Scottish heritage, including a hand fasting ritual that made the moment even more meaningful.

After the ceremony, I photographed the wedding party around Hatley Castle and spent time capturing just Fiona and Kevin. Watching them pause, laugh, and soak in their day made for some of the most heartfelt photos.

The reception took place at Fiona’s parents’ home in Oak Bay, complete with lush gardens, koi ponds, and warm celebrations. Speeches, laughter, and even a surprise band for Kevin created an unforgettable evening. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they had a piñata cake, and everyone joined in the fun.

From start to finish, this Hatley Castle wedding was personal, intentional, and full of love. It was an honour to capture Fiona and Kevin’s joyful celebration and the authentic moments that made their day so special.
